Week in Review – July 29, 2017

What. A. Week. I’m tired, excited and incredibly nervous, but I think it’s all going to pay off!

If you somehow haven’t heard yet, we are launching a Kickstarter campaign on Monday! Over this past week we’ve had an announcement to share each day and we’ve got one last one to share tomorrow featuring a very small indie studio working on an ambitious VR title. If you’ve ever wanted to see the inner workings of a start-up indie studio, this is a project you’ll want to pay attention to.

If you’ve missed any of our announcements thus far, here’s a quick list.

  • Perception and The Deep End Games
  • Kingdom Come: Deliverance and Warhorse Studios
  • Airship Syndicate and Battle Chasers: Nightwar
  • Gunfire Games and multiple titles
  • Darksiders Documentary
  • Outpost Games and SOS

We’re very excited to have the chance to cover all of these projects. If you haven’t yet, you can support us ahead of our Kickstarter’s launch on Monday by supporting our Thunderclap campaign. All you have to do is connect your Facebook or Twitter account to it and it’ll post an automated message. You can remove Thunderclap’s access to your account as soon as the message is posted if you’re uncomfortable with having it connected. I’ve personally used it for a few years now and have had no issues with it.

We’re currently the #3 trending campaign on the website which is incredible to see!

The amount of support we’ve received thus far for the campaign has been humbling. I’ve been grinning ear to ear all week seeing how excited people are about what we’re doing and willing to support good games journalism. I’ve been trying to respond to as many people as possible that have left us a comment, feedback or pledged their support.

We leave next Sunday for Boston to start production on our second documentary and will be posting periodic updates about it right through our Kickstarter campaign to show you guys what we’re doing while we’re there. We’ve got some other cool stuff lined-up outside of the documentary while we’re there, but it’s all a surprise so you’ll have to wait and see what we’re doing!

If you enjoy our written feature content, that returns on Monday as well. We’ll also be releasing the next episode for both the Official Podcast and Girlumentary next week, so be on the lookout for those via our Youtube channel.

Nothing to share here this week. I have been glued to my computer screen playing with social media all week to promote this Kickstarter. Feel free to let us know what you’ve been up to gaming wise though!

Hope to see you on Monday on the campaign trail!

  • For my week: played some Albion before I started reviewing Pyre. My time has been spent mostly getting my syllabi ready for the fall semester (and choosing what video games I want to show my in world building class.) Classes start on the 21st, so it’s just about crunch time!

  • I really don’t have much to say this week. Played a bit of ARMA 3 with a friend (we’re going through the ropes together trying to learn it,) and we started a Dead Space 3 co-op game. Really looking forward to the release of The Long Dark’s story mode of Tuesday.

    Good luck with the Kickstarter!

  • Played a little GTA V this week with by brother and some friends and went back through some footage I recording in the Destiny 2 Beta last week. Seems like the latter has a lot of promise of surpassing the original.
